Marketing & Advertising

We value the diverse community of therapists and mental health professionals who work from our clinic. Our goal is to create an environment that is supportive, ethical, and protective of everyone working here, while helping clients understand the differences in professional roles.

The questions below explain how marketing, visibility, and collaboration work within our shared space.

Why does the clinic have a marketing guidance for room hirers?

Our clinic brings together practitioners with different training, roles, and areas of expertise at the beyond Barriers premises. A marketing policy helps ensure that:

  • Clients clearly understand who is offering which type of service

  • Professional roles are represented ethically and accurately

  • Everyone working in the clinic feels supported and protected

  • The clinic remains a sustainable and collaborative environment

It’s about clarity and community, not hierarchy.

Can I use the full clinic address or postcode in my marketing?

It Is important that potential clients are clear who they are engaging with and location matters for clients, so we want you to describe your workplace in a way that feels accurate and professional. The Beyond Barriers address is closely linked with our clinical psychology service so room hirers using the full address online can unintentionally:

  • Confuse clients about who provides which service

  • Blur distinctions between professional roles

  • Create unintentional competition between practitioners in the same building

For this reason, the full street address and postcode should not be used in individual online advertising or Google business profiles unless agreed in advance via our more comprehensive room hire package. Instead, we offer other ways to support visibility that are collaborative and community-focused.

All practitioners who book on an ad hoc hourly basis are welcome to say they are:

  • Based in Altrincham or

  • Working from a clinic in Altrincham

Are there ways to get enhanced marketing support?

Yes. For practitioners who wish to make a longer-term commitment of minimum 1/2 day per week, we offer additional support, which could include:

  • Postcode use

  • Inclusion in a “Practitioners Working From Our Clinic” directory on our website

  • Participation in referral pathways where appropriate

These options are designed to support stability, visibility, and connection within the clinic community.

How do we support referrals between practitioners?

We encourage thoughtful referrals within our practitioner community to help people find the most suited person, through welcoming relationship and informal networking evenings. This helps ensure clients receive the right level of care and that practitioners are supported in providing high-quality services.

What if I’m unsure whether my marketing fits with this?

We welcome open conversations. If you’re unsure about marketing materials, online listings, or how your services are described, please reach out. Our aim is to find solutions that are clear, fair, and supportive for everyone.

Our shared approach to marketing and visibility is about:

  • Protecting clarity for clients

  • Supporting ethical practice

  • Reducing unnecessary competition between practitioners

  • Fostering a stable, supportive professional community

We are grateful to everyone who chooses to work from Beyond Barriers  and contribute to its culture, and we are committed to nurturing a space where professionals can work together ethically, respectfully, and successfully over the long term.
