Imagine living in a Trauma-Informed Community...

Imagine a community where people, services and businessses understand the impact of stress, adversity and trauma- and respond with care and flexibility.

Welcome

Since 2020, we've been working to build more trauma-sensitive, connected and supportive community.

A network where your journey to wellbeing is supported beyond clinical settings. And where emotional health is seen as everybody's business.

A community where you can belong, connect, and step into new opportunities in a safe, supported way... regardless of your life experiences.

OUR JOURNEY

From an Idea to a Growing Movement

It began with a question: What would it mean to create a 'trauma-sensitive town'?

2021 - The vision for Trauma-sensitive Trafford evolved - recognising that communities can be therapeutic and help us heal from the impact of trauma, if they are sensitive to the impact of trauma on their residents

2023 - we worked with local VCFSE organisations and social businesses to create a small number of trusted trauma-sensitive providers.  This became a founding  project with the Trauma responsive GM framework.

2025 - commissioned by Trafford Community Collective and in collaboration with the Trafford Mental Health Collaborative, we are expanding this work across the VCFSE sector in Trafford.
